Well I got it.
« on: September 23, 2006, 12:55:07 PM »

Now I just have to build it.  I'm gonna get an airbrush set and everything.

I'm out of practice though, so I'm going to practice with some airplanes first:

Followed by the only non-Honda I want to own:

If anyone cares, I can post the results when I'm done.

Whoa!  The Vincent Black Shadow is the bike legends were made of..  My dad was into motorcycles in the 60's and early 70's, and whenever the topic of the Vincent comes up, he always talks about the Black Shadow with a tone of respect and reverence..  Good stuff!

That's pretty cool. I just got into models like a week or so ago. No bikes yet but I did a sick Chevy Gasser model this week.

I find 400 models on ebay often, they always go for mucho dinero

and stay away from this one!!  ;D  ;)

You laugh but when I'm in model shops, good quality 1:8 and 1:6 scale car and bike models run anywhere from $60 to $100, so I think these prices, while high, are not totally out of line.  I mean reportedly the Nagano 400F models are VERY high quality.

WOW WEEE!!!! What a blast from the past! I used to love building models when I was a kid.Not meaning to burst your bubble but I seem to remember the Revell kits were'nt that good.I remember a VW surfer/hippie van that was totally a pain in the ass.....the pieces didn't fit together very well. I got the most joy with it by gathering some of my friends to watch me blow it up with an M-80......plastic parts scattered everywhere!!!!!! I hope you have better luck with yours. Maybe in our older age,we have a bit more patience!!!!!

The "Lincoln Mint"  metal models are the best quality in my opinion,  they cost a pretty penny but they always look great when done

that's insane.  i was looking at the front fender thinking, wow, i wonder if it's a #$%* to fit through the forks on the model too.

i'd be tempted to start chopping away at it though.

I got back into model building last year after many years. Mostly planes and cars. I also dabble in model railroads (HO and N scales). I've never built a motorcycle model but after seeing the detail in that one, well, I have to have one!

A work of art! You'd almost want to mount it in a glass showcase so it didn't get dusty.
