1978 CB750F - Stalling
« on: July 16, 2014, 10:59:20 AM »
Hey all,

so took the 750F out last night and it kept stalling at stoplights. I know it's probably operator error however after riding it for a year I'm pretty certain I got the feel of the clutch and gas down. Is there anything that would be causing it to stall more than usual or something that changed that clutch/gas feel?

Thanks!
Chris

Carnack the Great presses the computer screen against his forehead.  After a moment of thought he says...

What do bikes do when they run low on gas?

No wait...
What do bikes do when they have bad gas?

Then another question...
What do bikes do that haven't had their 3K mile or 6 month tune up?

And finally...
What type of gum forms when ethanol gas sits for more than 3 months?

Tune up must be in check first.

If you're talking about a sudden "lurch" at the end of the clutch release point, it could be worn out clutch components.

I thought it was Carnak the Magnificent.  How are you, Lloyd.  I finally bought a 1985 V65 Sabre, and I love it.

Clogged idle jets are possible. Was it sitting around for a while?
