2 bikes 2 problems
« on: July 16, 2014, 11:43:11 AM »
Hey there, newbie here. came to try n get some help on some what i hope to be simple fixes.

1976 CB550ss: starts up... but when i put it in gear and ease the clutch off it stalls out... some kind of clutch adjustment? also... can explain why this happens? i recently did an oil change and can't see how they could be correlated, and curious if age, or a bump into something could cause it.

soon i want to tear this thing apart to do a restoration, seeking advice soon.

1972 CB175... sputtering around 3500 RPMs, starts up fine, revs ooook... but hardly any power and its sure sputter. full tank... tried reserve, i opened the carbs to look at the jets, had issues before, but nothing looked out of the ordinary... would know what to tinker if i need to tinker around there... carb sync? dirty line? serious?

Cripes.  Not much info there at all.

Is the clutch cable moving the plug on the back of the key switch when the cable tension is released?  Do the lights go off when the engine dies?

With engine not running, if you put into gear and hold the clutch lever to the grip, can you push the bike without turning the engine crankshaft?

Any history regarding the routine 3K tune up schedule?

All the head pipes get hot?
