« on: August 01, 2014, 03:28:22 PM »
MotogpWerks has taken over Cal Fab and is remaking the swingarms for the 750/4 Honda's, they are 20mm longer than a stock K swingarm and look great.... 8)

I've got some good choices now Steve, I have the modified GSXR arm, a very good GS1100 alloy arm and now this one, regardless of price i'll end up with one... :o ;D ;)

I had a CalFab swing arm on my first bike.  It was a 1978 KZ1000 LTD.  I bought it at a motorcycle swap meet for just $ 50.oo  That was in 1982
Man those were the days.   ;)

Looks impressive and a lot stronger. What's the general opinion: do our CB750s need a longer s/arm for spirited street riding?

Thats fine, you can run a 4.25-4.5 inch rim in a stock arm easily and a small mod to spacers and you can run any brakes, thats all relatively easy to do... I'll be running a rear disc on mine, only mod is the tabs on the top of the arm for the bar that holds the caliper mount and a little bit of machining on the spacers....

RR, does that one use needle bearings and inner collars similar to the GS1000E ?

Yes, its a needle bearing arm, I have to have the 750 frame pivot bolt hole opened up to suit the larger pivot bolt and i'm shortening the arm at the pivot end so its exactly 1 inch longer than the stock K arm... ;)

Retro - couldn't you get the 550 arm instead and relocate your pivot hole? Seems a shame to alter that arm from Chris  :-\

Cal, you must have misinterpreted what i said somewhere mate, Chris's arm will fit perfectly and won't be altered at all, the GS1100 arm I have is being altered, funnily enough, to the same specs as the Motogp calfab arm  ;D ;) I have 2 different aluminum arms now and a 3rd coming..... 8)

Hmmm, maybe i misinterpreted Gamma's question , I was referring to the GS1100 arm compared to the gs1000 arm Gamma mentioned, they are both roller bearing....sorry for the confusion... :o
