Throttle cable snap
« on: August 05, 2014, 04:05:17 AM »
I just made it into Fayetteville right outside of fort Bragg and my ducking throttle cable either snapped or came out of its position in the starter assembly. Got a co worker bringing my some screw drivers and pliers. #$%*ing Philips in the tool kit is too big. Hope I don't have to tow this damn thing back 50 miles for this bull#$%*.

I tied the broken cable to the butterfly thing in the carbs so it will accelerate but it won't decelerate.  Made it a couple miles to a green light cycles that can hopefully help supply a cable

You can increase the idle and use clutch friction zone to get going.

I was referred to another shop who has a lot of older parts called Cycle Shop if you are ever in Spring Lake/Fayetteville you should go to it.  He has a bunch of old dreams in there and some GL's.  I didn't get to look for long as I was replacing the cable, but he showed me the 5 rows of shelving full of old Honda parts.

But finally made it to work.  Cost me 12 extra dollars of my commuting budget.

Awesome.
