Less than 2 weeks ago I blew a fuse while riding. I swapped it out and today while riding I seemed to lose power while coming to a stop. I hit the start button and she fires up and home I get.

I swapped out the stock fuse box and simply put in a fuse. Today I attempted to fix this. See pic below. Now I have no power at all. I went to get another set up for the fuse and still no power. I pulled my gas tank and checked the connections there and all is connected. Any idea what to check?

Here are a few pics. First pic is the replacement. Second pic is how I ran it with a fuse in it. I put my battery on a charger and it's fully charged.

I am thinking it isn't my controls as they are brand new from Yamiya.

I opened up my headlight bucket and there is white corrosion on the bucket itself. Also on the wires. My jerry riggin skills seems to have jacked it up. New harness will have to be ordered.

Do I go with the 200 genuine honda or can I get the 90 buck repop?

I just got a Z1parts.net harness and it is NICE! (I offered $70 on ebay and they accepted).

What was wrong with the wires in the bucket Nick ? A complete harness change is a pretty big deal and there are a few differences through the years on them. Don't tear it all out till we get back from Holiday

I don't know but, it looks like the blade to the fuse may have been corroded , power got through the fuse and heated up the blade, that's where I would start looking for trouble, red, then red and brown then blacks.
Are your grounds from battery to frame and coil ground clean and in good condition ?

Q: does " Jacked it up" in this case mean that the wiring harness is "cooked", "fried", or "crispy"?

Lots of black burn marks on the main harness RB. The positive battery screw was loose. I noticed this after I cut.the burnt red fuse connection off.

I received my new harness and ignition switch in the mail yesterday. Finally got around to replacing the crusty harness and still no power. Everything is wired correctly. Now to use the search feature on how and what to test next.

He is real good people! Not only did he talk me through it but taught me.how to check for incase of future issues. But I better get 43 years out of this harness!

Aw, come now, Retro, as "others" have said, with the time it takes you to build a bike, it will only be in service for 6 months by the.

Okay, so he forgot to plug his new ignition switch into the main harness

anything more complicated than that, and there's no way I could have fixed it
