3 prong flasher

1976 CB 550...so the flasher has positive, negative and "L" (load?) so what color wires do I attach to? thanks

Neg. will be green, there shoulld be a plug for the other two. The Old Man Honda site used to have color wiring diagrams.

On a 750 it would be:

+  black
-   green
L   gray

I assume the 550 would be the same. At the very least, the + and - would be the same so connect whatever is left over to L.

Green to "-"
Black to "+"
Whatever's left to "L" (grey I think: I could look at a wiring diagram but there are only 3 wires...)

There are a lot of different 3 terminal flashers, only a few will work. Some will just blow the fuse immediately when you turn the key on. Yours sounds OK from the terminal letters but most have the European wire numbers as well to confirm.
