ontario boys - where does one get an inline fuel filter from?
« on: September 29, 2006, 06:46:09 AM »
there's some rust in my tank that i'm looking to work out - but regardless of how clean i get it, i'd like to have an inline filter ahead of my carbs.

been looking around at places like TSC, but haven't been able to find any. ideally, i'd like to get a handful of disposable filters. could anyone point me in the right direction?

You could try a Honda dealer (that's where I got mine), also a lawn/garden equipment repair place, they probably stock them as well.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I got mine at an auto parts store.  1/4 inch fuel filter inthe lawn and garden section.  Boat dealers should have than as well.

If in doubt there is always Crappy Tire as a last resort.

maybe it's just me, but i can't seem to find anything in crappy tire. nowadays the shelves are crammed so full of junk you can't find anything useful.

i'm trying to think of a local auto parts store that would have a lawn&garden section... i do know that john deere has cheap inline filters for their mowers (we used them for a project at work a long while back) - but i can't remember where those were sold.  i assumed i could find them at TSC - but two tours through the place and i'm still empty handed.

i suppose i'll hit the canadian tire in cambridge and the hardware store in waterdown on my way home - see what i can find.

I would have thought that most powersports dealerships will stock them.....

If TSC is the same Tractor Supply Company that we have here in the States, they keep them in the lawnmower parts section.

the powersports place was a good recommendation. went to the closest place yellowpages could come up with to my work... picked up a couple different types.

they were both supplied by kimpex, so any bike/powersports shop should be able to get them, given the part numbers.

i can list those if anyone's interested.
