What is this
« on: July 02, 2015, 09:48:32 AM »
I took the top caps off my PD46C carbs to clean where the needle is and I found this spring next to my feet randomly. It is not from the arm that pulls the slides because I didn't touch that and it still in place. What could this be???

Only thing I can think of in the PD46C carbs that would have that spring is one of the IMS's.

There is a spring on the lever that holds the needle down inside the slide

I don't remember any spring on the inside of the slide cylinder on the PD46C's. Pics or it didn't happen.

Dave, that one had me scratching my head too. Then I remembered there is a small, double hook-end spring on the linkage off the throttle bar. But, it is nothing like this coil spring shown, which is obviously a match for the one on the ASM screw.

Ohh, you're both totally right, my mistake. There is a spring there. You can see it in the #10 group.

But yeah RevDoc, as you said not the spring in Alex's picture.

Bingo, Dave you said it in the first response. I was thinking maybe it was somewhere on the needle but then I'm like naaa couldn't be. Never thought the IMS.
