A vote for the Michelin Macadams
« on: September 29, 2006, 10:49:23 AM »
Bought a new Macadam 120/90 18 and istalled it on my 550 for my birthday...

After a week of rifding it, i don't understand how i ever grew as comfortable as i did with the worn out, dry-rotted IRC tire that was on the back.

however, no more spinning the back tire on the centerstand!

Macadams are great tyres. Used them on the R1100RS I used to have and got 20,000+kms out of them, front and rear. But I thought they were discontinued and replaced by Pilot Roads....?

Apparently not...  i ordered through western power sports (at cost through work!).  But, they were out of the regular tires, so i went with the high speed.

Check to see how old the tyre is.

My guess is that there will be stocks of the lesser used sizes for quite a while.
