Without getting into the whole "is an oil cooler necessary" discussion, I decided to run one because A) I had one, and B ) my current build will be using Yoshimura high compression pistons. Figured it couldn't hurt down here in the hot and humid South.
I was having some welding and fab work done so I asked the guy to make a tab to hold the cooler. When I picked it up, this is what I found. (Note: NOT criticizing his work! He did everything I asked him to do and did a great job. More pics on my build thread. Even he noticed things didn't quite line up, but that's the way the lines fit, etc. No harm done....the stock filter still fits. Anyway....)

As you can see, the oil cooler sits right in front of the exhaust ports and will foul the header.
I haven't messed with it yet. The bike is still strapped down in the van. Can I rotate the oil cooler lines on the base so that they are tighter and more of a straight shot up? I thought the lines were supposed to be really close to each other and kind of fit between the 2 and 3 pipes?
Those of you that have run this cooler, did you have to make new lines? What am I missing here?
