Unfold and Go-- Dahon bikes
« on: September 20, 2014, 12:54:21 PM »
Got o a few pokers in the fire on some some more motorbikes but while out on my routine antique pickin' this morning I went to a neighborhood sale in a local retirement mobile home park I like. Original owner had this pair of Dahon 5 speed fold up bikes that I could not resist for a $50.00 bill. He bought them new around 1984 for himself and wife. Should clean up very nice and they have all the original fenders, reflectors and even luggage racks. Used to always see little Honda Trail 70's and these kind of bikes hanging off travel trailers etc. Company is still in business I believe. Have not tried folding it up yet--watch those fingers  :D Seems to be a little, minimal market out there for these odd little bikes. Probably another loser on my part.  Luckily my wife has gone to Italy on a trip so no eye roll,  she never knows what I will be carting home in the back of my truck on any given day.
You young bucks give me a horn toot or two on your mighty fours when you see me and the old lady pedaling down the road.   ;D

I will post a pic when I dig in a little more. Might need help from the forum   ;D  At least they have no oil or pods , hopefully my second gears are good or it could be a tranny thread  :o

The color gave it away ;D. Good news is they will have those awesome new dahon's to smooth out the bumps.  I think i need to stop interneting when that is the first reply from a "tranny" thread. lol

Ha Ha--Usually Steve'o from Texas is the first to crack on a 'tranny' thread  :D  Glad you beat him to it.  Is the color of my bikes hopefully the rare Honda Sulfurous Yellow ?

Thought it was more elton john esque, but further inspection says nay. Still though that yellow is eye catching, great for staying visible. Really cool shade.
