« on: August 16, 2014, 03:11:56 PM »
Somehow, one of the four studs on my rear wheel got bent. Are these replaceable? Please advise.

#4 is rubber, the studs unscrew from the housing with some effort, try a little soft flame heat around the alloy if its real tight.

#43. So do you just clamp down on this with vise grips and torque?

Sounds tough. I think I'm going to get a shop to install my wheel bearings, so I may see if they will replace the stud. I don't have the tools it sounds like and I don't want to mess up the powder coat.

Yeah. I'm a little worried about shearing it (although it is a pretty big stud). Also, I'm not sure how I would hold it still.

Should it be perpendicular to the part in the wheel or the part that is bent?

I ended up using a double nut and a regular wrench. It came out much easier than I thought it would.
