'75 CB550 engine rebuild leftovers....
« on: September 30, 2014, 06:01:19 PM »
Oh help.  I am left with a roller bearing.  I double and triple checked everything.  I was wondering if anyone had any ideas where it goes.  I am worried it is my main shaft bearing but I feel like I double checked it a million times.

Engine is together.... so any help would be appreciated.

Possibly the primary shaft or a transmission shaft. Did you do a bottom end rebuild?
Might be either #74 or #76 in the link below

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. That goes on to the Starter clutch area. I saw that once I removed mine. Not sure what the part is called but it goes onto the rod that the starter clutch is attached to.
