Recognise this ?

Looking for a bit of help guys. Fitting polishes stator cover , trans cover  , chain cover. After removing the stator this fell out. It looks like a dowel pin bit can't find where it goes  any help would be appreciated .

I'd have to see the inside, but that looks a lot like the piece that screws on the top of a spark plug. We don't use them on our bikes since our plug caps fit only the threaded tops which that little bugger screws on to......

No one else replied so I'll elaborate... If it's threaded inside, and very very light. I'd say it's to the plug. How it got there where you found it, I have no clue. Could also try threading it on to one of your plugs just to see. And, check the parts diagrams at partzilla.com to see if you find it shown on anything in the diagrams where you found it.
