The bike has been running perfect since I finish it I forgot to post the final pictures, after the summer is over I plan to powdercoat everything and clean up the gauges and wiring, I won't have a problem with the new 5 foot tall box I picked up full of snap on Mac and craftsman tools for the price you guys won't believe of 150 dollars. So many thing to list I nearly fainted when the guy took my offer.

I've done a few things the past few months, cb900 shocks, made an engine mount and machined down the triple tree. Plans for the winter are cr750 fairing, a vapor digital tach and speedo, and hopefully some aluminum rims. I'd really like to make some 4 into 4 cr pipes but we will see how far I get this winter

I picked up a set of gl1000 wheels for 60$ and
Laced them up. I took the front one apart to polish the
Hub and the rear to lace up to my cb750f hub. Easy as pie.
The gl1000 hub is only roughly 5/8" larger of hub
Diameter compared to the cb750f hub, but the f hub
Is about 1/4" to 1/2" wider- so custom spokes Are not needed!
Spoke Angle is still in line too! I Ordered a 130/90-17 rear Battlax bt45-
It was the recommend size for the gl1000 rim- but I hope it isn't too wide,
I don't want to throw off the handling, but I removed 6.1 pounds of unsprung
Weight- thats 23% weight reduction per wheel!!

Hey all! I haven't posted in a while and this is more of a bump so my thread doesn't get lost, the bike is a never ending build

Anyways it's been riding great all summer without one hiccup, but i did manage to get a MotoGp werks 4 into 1 stainless pipe and mount it up. It was waaaaaay too loud so I baffled it. It came with a "baffle" slip that I added onto with a stock cb750f guts. Worked ou nicely!

Hello folks! The first snow has fallen here in Colorado so I am ready for my winter project! Even with new pads and another disc the brakes are terrible and the bigger forks will be much stiffer. The gl1k fork also helps with adapting a modern caliper. It going to be a lot of work but I foresee a long winter

So far this is my parts list that I have-
2001 Zx6r 6 pot calipers
1998 cbr600f3 rotors
gl1000 front end
Bullit Customs gl1000 Cnc top triple
All balls taperd bearings
Fork and dust seals

What I need-
Aluminum material for spacers and caliper mounts.
37mm clipons( It seems tough to find a quality set for some reason. I don't really want Chinese eBay ones so the search continues)

I start tomorrow!

Thanks seanbarney41! I thaught all they offered were the clips with risers,
And I like the steel 7/8" part of it.

So today I turned down the spoke flanges of an extra hub and fit the rotors so they are hubcentric.
Tomorrow I will split the hub and finish the two pieces into spacers. Not a bad start!

My only worry is that I hope there is enough material in the back face
To be strong.

Spacers are finished. I measured twice
and constantly checked my work but
The spacing somehow is off on the speedo drive
Side. I don't get it- both the stock gl1k rotors were
Equi-spaced( new word?) and so were the cbr rotors.
Anyways if the spoke clearance for the caliper is too
Close ill just make another for the speedo side.

Could I have the axle in backwards or made
A simple mistake? Could the Rotor spacing off on the gl1k too???

Hey hey. If your spacers are the same, and your hub is centered, maybe your spokes are too tight on one side? Check the rim-to-fork clearance on both sides to make sure your rim is centered. Sorry if this is obvious.

Thanks blackandsilver-I just checked that and the rim to fork is equal on both sides, which means it correct. I assumed the rotors were spaced equally from the forks. I have another wheel and I guess I should check where the rotors sit as stock-Like I should have from the start. I get too excited when I work on stuff. Hopefully I still
Have spoke clearance with the backside of the caliper.

And I then started on my caliper mounts- almost done!

Well- im finished with my front end project.
It's a pretty scary thaught messing with brakes
But I'm confident it's not only safe but I feel as if
I am on a modern bike braking and going into
Corners. The gl1000 swap is much stronger and
Steering feel is fantastic with the needle bearings(my old
Headset was beginning to be indexed with worn ball
Bearings). This wasn't cheap tho, I think I'm at around
850.00 bucks including the tarrozi fork brace that's in
The mail. My crappy phone pics do not do justice, the
Way it looks and it's stance is awesome, I am still smiling
After my test ride yesterday

I also must give a hat tip to Jim f for the inspiration his brake swap he did.

I haven't posted in a while due to all the
Time I've been pouring into my Datsun build
But I had paint work done to the tank and seat!
Bike still runs like a top and not much else has been done besides
A chrome headlight and I cleaned up the headlight brackets-
Hope you guys like it! Gold metal flake on gloss black
