FedEx employee throwing items in truck:

I gotta say from this video, I really don't see anything wrong with what she is doing.  The packages are obviously light, and aren't going to be damaged a lot by being tossed around.  However, the most telling is the person that is handing over his packages TO her, notice how he does not care at all about the handling of the package and even JOINS in throwing them in.

This is also in a pretty urban area like New York or something, to fit them into the truck they can't just be set in the back, it's already a mountain of packages.  They aren't told to neatly line them up in their truck, it just doesn't work like that--it's not practical, and they are just going to get unloaded and thrown in some sort process anyways.

I'm sure there are many damning videos of all parcel carriers, but I don't think this is one.  LOL at the youtube comments of people referring to her as "EX Fedex employee."  If she were fired, it would be just for public relations.  If you saw what distribution managers and sort operations managers oversaw as far as handling packages, it would make her look like she was delivering nitro glycerin.

Lol Haris! I saw that comment and laughed. The video isn't as bad as the one worker tossing a tv. That was funny.

yeah, I did a google search and according to what I saw, the employee was fired and they made a statement about it and everything.  It went viral, so they really had no other choice I guess.

I've never had a problem with USPS Priority Flat-rate mail. It's the best deal for shipping heavy parts, plus the boxes are free.

I guess I spoke too soon.  Last week I ordered a special tool from one of my suppliers and they promptly shipped it via USPS first class mail in a padded envelope - the type that are too strong to tear open.  Yesterday the envelope arrived, opened and empty.  There was no doubt that it was sliced open with a sharp blade, which means that it happened somewhere along the way while in the possession of USPS.  I was directed to call the postmaster general's office and they instructed me to go online and file a complaint.  I asked if that would get me a replacement tool.  "No, but it will alert the distribution centers that there is an employee tampering with mail."

"Will they be able to identify who handled it?" I asked.
"No, but bringing it to their attention will hopefully scare them and prevent this from happening again." I was told.

I laughed and told her that I felt a lot better knowing that their bureacratic process was hard at work.

There seems to be a lot of packages getting X-rayed these days? The ones I send out with wires in them, depending where they go, can take up to 6 weeks to cross Canada or Europe. Then a follow-up order with no wires inside, and it goes in 5-6 days!

I think this is how the last one I sent with a $20 bill inside never made it. Nor did the item.

What I've been doing inside many USPS "Priority Mail Flat Rate" packages, especially those flat ones, is: I TAPE the item inside the package. Then it can't "just fell out" from a slice.

Same here (now I've jinxed myself). Sorry to hear of the original posters bad luck. To be honest USPS is the best way to ship internationally as I have shipped heads and cylinders all over the world. FedX and UPS rates are out of this world for international.
Of course there are countries were theft and improprieties are very common....if shipping to one of them UPS or FedX would probably be worth the extra dough.

I started reading this thread when it first started and said to myself, "self, don't know what the problem is, I've never had a problem."  As things go, those were famous last words.

A few Days before reading the thread (September 19th), I ordered some Caliper rebuild kits (O-Rings) for a buddy of mine with another brand bike.  This past Monday (September 29th) I checked the tracking on the part (on USPS web site).  The package had received scan notification on September 20th but nothing after that.

Contacted the seller diparts I believe is their name.  And they replied that the part had shipped and would find out what's going on.  Meanwhile, I've got the calipers ready to rebuild and still have no O-Rings. and no further word from the seller.

So, I guess I cursed myself.  LOL

I have a letter sent from Florida one week ago, left USPS Florida facility yesterday :) It was the cheapiest shipping alternative for small parts as jets.
It went rather quick last time.
I guess they fill a container which takes some days, when finally departed it will fly fast...

The thread starters package had a really fantastic journey! If people was shipped like that the ticket should cost a lot for all extra sightseeing! :)

My package should have traveled 2268 miles over 3 days, it instead went nearly 16000 miles over 47 days. I let you know how they handle the claim I am filing.

I got it yesterday, USPS – First-Class Mail International. Containing Needle Jets that found their way direct into my carbs.  Sent from Miami sept 25, arrived in my post box oct 6. Not bad at all.
