Topic: Quickie 1979 GS1000 Thread on New Buy

  Moment of truth time was upon me late this afternoon. All back together, chain cleaned and lubed etc, and my Son  showed up to show of his new to him turbo-charged Subaru cool thing with a hood scoop  . We went for a ride in his new buggy and I was 'impressed'. When we got back we lit up the old GS and after I gave it a good shakedown run and then he drove it, he was a little impressed also. It was running quite well after its long slumber and seemed to gravitate towards 80+ mph very quickly 
  The old Honda's are great bikes but grab a little bigger, newer machine if you see one around sometime for a good price. A little variety is the spice of life, just don't tell the wife

One last pic or two for the animal lovers out there. Here is a pic of my Lab mix when I could not find him once during a severe thunderstorm one evening and when I did he was hiding in the fireplace  This little Kitty was pushing 30 lbs at one time

Good deals on those parts, Eric, nothing beats OEM if it's available.  I like spicy, guess I should buy another bike!

That one does have a comfy looking seat on it too. I always like keeping the old Suzies running with oem parts too,they're still avail. !

 My wife says I have to keep the rack and 'sissy' bar as this is going to be the new family ride/cruiser. I will say compared to a 750 this seat is a sofa with plenty of room for both her and I, and the sissy pad is very confidence inspiring for a female passenger. Hopefully we can blow a few leaves off the road together this fall if I get a little more confidence in the machine first.
