I have a NOS tank for a 1975 400 Supersport and the gas cap won't latch. With the cap pushed all the way down until the pin hits the support (chrome part), the latch (gold colored part) won't lock down. The latch will lock down if pushed farther down, but that's not possible in normal operation.
Is the tank latch adjustable in some way? Given that this is a NOS tank I don't want to disassemble it unnecessarily so I'd like to have some idea of what I'm doing first.
