Help Me With My CycleX 4 into 2 headers.
« on: November 01, 2014, 11:42:56 PM »
Background: I purchased the CycleX 4 into 2 headers with the intent of attaching some longer exhuast pipes.  The first problem I had was that the headers, which are supposed to be plug and play with a k8, would not work with the half moon collars.  All it took was a phone call to CycleX and they immediately sent out new half moons that would work for free.  Their response was very quick, which gave me the impression that they are aware of they issue.

Current issue: As the attached picture shows, my header pipes are not level with each other.  I tried swapping pipes and mounting them to different points on the header, to no avail.

Question: Is this something I can remedy on my own by slightly bending the rear of each header pipe?  If so, how should I bend the header to prevent damage?

You would think that for the price you would not have to go through all of that on a new set of headers. Should be bolt and go. Maybe contact Cycle X and see if they have had any other issues similar to yours if your absolutely sure their installed correctly.

The issue is that the pipes are not symmetrical as these pictures show.  I have emailed the CycleX with pics, and I am sure they'll rectify the situation.

Update: CycleX has been in contact with me, and will give me a full refund if I send the pipes back...or I can figure out something on my end.  They said it appears to be a manufacturing error, and will have to go back and forth with the manufacturer.

Does anyone know of a way to correct the kick-up in the back so that the two pipes are symmetrical?  A local custom exhaust shop stated that they couldn't bend the pipes even slightly without cracking the chrome.

make sure its not resting on the kickstand on the one side. They weren't cycle x, but an other 4 to 2 system i installed, I had to take the kick stand off to mount them and then reinstall the kickstand once they were on.
