I'm painting a bike w/ Duplicolor rattle can Lacquer
« on: November 26, 2014, 05:33:15 AM »
Hi,
I'm painting a bike Duplicolor rattle can lacquer touch up cans,I've used it before and it's worked well for me in other applications but I've never used it on a fuel tank before.I've picked the color and so I'm going w/ it.I'll also be using the same Duplicolor clear lacquer over it and I want to ask how long I should let it cure before starting to use the fuel tank ? This is a 'over the Winter' project so I know I'll let it sit for at least a month  ::) ..,I ride year round if I can,the snow will probably keep me off the roads for a little bit though.
                                   Thanks for your feedback

I used Duplicolor rattle can on my tank (turned out great BTW) but had it cleared with regular clear so I guess that doesn't help you much.  If I had to guess I'd say a week at moderate temps should have it completely cured.

How did it hold up to a gas spill ?
