77 CB 550F Headgasket
« on: March 18, 2015, 02:48:16 PM »
Just wondering if a headgasket can be done without changing the lower cylinder gasket.
Or will it be disturbed when changing the headgasket.
Thanks

once the head is off don't kick it over as it will lift the cylinder up. If you just replace the top and don't turn the crank you should be fine using it.

I've done it. Be carefull how you pry the head from the jugs and make sure ALL head bolts are removed. One time I noticed a bit of a weep from the base afterwards but it went away.
