Saturday, around half past noon, Michigan experienced a 4.2 earthquake on a previously unknown fault.  Cracks in the cinder block walls of a local classic bike shop is about the only damage.

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

I was in my garage Bruce and thought that my garage door I was standing under was closing by itself or falling off the track and it made me jump. My wife came out with here hands shaking after hearing everything rattling in the house. We said WTF an earthquake ?

  • After work to the "Wets"
Could that be considered part of the St Laurence quake zone?

I was driving around in my truck.  The suspension apparently dampened out the shake.  I missed it completely!!

I got a call from the mrs telling me to watch out for derailed trains and/or mushroom clouds as the apartment got a pretty good shaking.

Looks like Charlie's shop will only take a bit of spackle here and there to be right as rain.

People are trying to ban fracking/injection wells down here because something like a 900% increase in seismic activity.

The first quake  to get any attention was 4.6 or so. Then there were record large quakes.

I've felt them, but the big one I was walking  to a store and didn't deel it.  When I got there employees were just walking back in. Signs over  the isles were all swinging in the same tempo and I think there were a few things knocked off shelves.

That's what seems to happening in Oklahoma, the increase in seismic activity that is. There are some maps that pretty much support the relationship between seismic activity and waste water injection sites associated with tracking.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

That stuff is pretty much NNE of here. I understand Denton TX city council banned either fracking, injection wells or drilling entirely. Stillwater is thinking of doing the same. The Daily show featured this issue   at the end of last month.

The Michigan quake they said was at least 4 miles deep and said to have no correlation to fracking etc..

I was in my garden shed, I thought there was an animal on the roof at first, but soon realized it was more than that.  My wife said the cats were totally freaking out.  No damage to my house/foundation.

On the franking thing.  Most of the frack wells in Michigan are up north.  They seem to be in the poorer counties where residents like the promise of $ rather than clean water.
