1978 CB750F Idle Problem
« on: May 15, 2015, 11:58:56 PM »
Hi All,

Had my carbs cleaned and rebuilt last year and getting a consistent idle problem.  Bike will start up and rev throughout the range nicely, however it will not hold idle unless the choke is partially pulled out and locked, hot or cold.  Tried adjusting the idle but no matter at what position, the bike will still stall out if the choke is not pulled out a bit less than half way.  Brand new slow idle jets were installed.  Any ideas?  Thanks Allan

What carbs do you have?  PD what....?
If it idles better with the choke on, it means your idle circuit is too lean.
You need to tell us what you're running for intake and exhaust, what your fuel screw is set at, and what your pilot jet size, and brand is....we need more information to help you.

Check for air leaks in the carb boots.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Good one Lester.   That would also require choke to operate correctly.
