Replacing the crankcase gasket, didn't see that gasket sealant is needed for assembly. Is this true? If not, what gasket sealant should I use? Thanks in advanced!

It's the crankcase cover on the kickstarter side. It's the paper gasket, picture attached from manual. I was researching and using a non-hardening sealant like the Permatex Form-A-Gasket was being used on oil pan gaskets or valve cover gaskets.
