Even with high temp or ceramic costing inside, you'll never prevent the discoloration from occurring. You can only minimize it and tend to it with polishes as it occurs. High temp treatments reduce the radiation of heat outward, but simply can not prevent it from happening.
Thaks Cal,
Wiped exhaust down with acetone and clean rag after the high temp. Gonna cure in my oven. Figure a few heat cycles before the install will give me the greatest change of success. Any tips for avoiding the rainbow would be appreciated. Should be good to go as soon as my throttle cables come in.
One interesting thing I noticed was that the carb gauge I have been using sits 2mm above the gasket surface. I normally set my carbs to 25mm K1 spec, but I guess I have been setting them to 27mm if you figure in the extra 2mm that the gauge is above the gasket.
Would running at 27mm or 28mm discolor exhaust immediately? I always seem to get a nice golden hew especially to #4. This bike is coming along nicely and don't want to discolor exhaust.
