Engine install. Hang your motor.
« on: July 09, 2015, 02:04:10 PM »
Hi all. I see lots of great articles on motor installation. Heres how I did mine. The key thing for me was to do it with just myself and not to get any scratches on my new powder coated frame.
1. Hang the motor high enough to get the mainstand down on the frame when finished.
2. Put the ropes through the engine bolt holes and put a half knot at each side so the rope cant slip through.
3. Take off the oil filter and the top tappet cover (on a CB500)
4. Block under the motor and one rope unhooked at the top.
5. Slip the frame up to the motor and pass the ropes on one side through the frame.
6. Bolt the motor in.
7. Main stand down and block front of motor.
8. Your done. No scratches. Easy as.
