World Trials Championships, Rhode Island
« on: July 28, 2015, 07:57:53 AM »
Thought some of you might like to see some pics from the World Trials Championships, Rhode Island this past weekend

We went down Saturday afternoon on the VStrom with temps in the mid-70s getting hotter as we ventured into RI. Wet Greenwich was the location for this event. We arrived set up tent in the woods then got ourselves acquainted with the course. It was 12 sections scattered throughout the forest. The riders would come through each section and ride the trail depending on their skill level: green for amateur, blue for intermediate and red for expert. The red courses were very exciting to watch but pretty much everything seemed difficult.

No idea where to camp so we chose the woods...the three bikes in the background are early 80s Hondas from VT

The last section - section 12 - our campsite was in the background in next to the paddock.

Couple of bikes already had some fun

A green rider

the tricky log at section 11

One of the pro riders

Another one

Number 2 Raga ended up coming in second - check the spotter on the left with the headset/microphone

One of the blue riders on a hard part of section 8 - notice the red section on the left side!!

Another blue rider

Look at the focus

This section proved to be impossible for everyone - note the guy scaling it using a rope - problem was the run up was only about 6ft

Section 8 - red rider taking on the tough part at the top

Section 10

And then some evening entertainment

And then moto giro

Classic trials

cheers
Andy

Looks like a fun time and those trials riders can do some amazing things. When I was a kid I had illusions of doing that kind of stuff on my Suzy 125, slowing crawling through and over tough stuff without dabbing my foot.Got pretty good with the equipment that I had.
