LED flasher keeps blowing
« on: July 27, 2015, 01:47:27 PM »
After converting my turn signals to LED and installing a Novita EP35 flasher I notice that the flasher blows every few weeks of riding and has to be replaced. This has happened three times now. It's rated up to 15V and 162W. Any idea why this is happening? Bike is a 76 CB550F. Electrical system is stock except for my LED signals and brake light.

There's a short somewhere.  I'd start by going through your harness, and cleaning/treating all connectors, especially the orange and light blue signal wires.  It probably needs it.  Inspect the fuses and housing for hot spots.
It may even be in your L control switch.
