Where in Los Angeles for seat recover?
« on: October 25, 2006, 07:06:48 PM »
I live in Hollywood & want to find somewhere to recover my seat for honda cb550. I know a few places but they do a ghetto ass job. The last time I had it recovered it looked like a wedding cake. The thing is way too high & thick. I want it done real purdy & low pro like this one:

Anyone can recommend a quality place?

Try this link for the SR500 forum.  Seems to me some of the participants live in that area (except the ones in Australia).

Good luck.

You can always hit up Carpy for a one off seat.

I would imagine there are an abundance of upholstery shops to choose from in the L.A. area.

If you find one that charges less than $300 let me know. I live in Pasadena and all the places i went to want 300 greenbacks to flip the script on the foam on my original seat to make it more cafe...at that price I would rather buy one from BCR

$300??? Jeeze. Most people I have talked to say they can do it for around $60. Johnson & Woods in one place. My only thing is I am worried about the quality. Most of these places don't specialize in motorcycle seats. They just recover anything in vinyl. So they may not create something as nice as that photo above. I swear I should just go to Japan. All these guys there focus on these types of things - it is an art to them & it shows...
