Are you sure??? You never know what was burned in that bike before you got it!  Besides I think gas fumes do just as good ;D

These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

G'Day Jane, wellin a lot of cases it was more out of necessity than anything else, we all thought 4 pipes were amazing at the time, trouble was that nothing rusted as quickly as a set of Honda pipes, I recently read an article where Honda were replacing them under warranty within 12 months of purchase!

Of course there were many among us who were caught up in the "need for speed" and 4 into 1 pipes offered more ground clearance, less weight and more power (supposedly) than the OEM pipes, so a lot of OEM pipes ended up in the trash, or were hung up in garages all over the world, to be sold now for more than what we pay for our bikes!

I "dropped" my new CB750F1 because I leaned it over too far around a bend and the horrible OEM muffler grabbed the road and spat me off, so I quickly replaced the muffler with a "Dunstall" muffler which worked very well and looked (and sounded) a lot better than the fugly F1 pipe.

Nothing has really changed much in the intervening 30-odd years, although OEM pipes are much better quality now, made from exotic materials like Titanium and stainless steel, that doesn't stop their owners from throwing them away and replacing them with the plethora of performance pipes available nowadays. In 30 years time another generation of "old farts" will be fighting over Ebay auctions for OEM pipes for their vintage R1's, Fireblades, GSXR's etc. Cheers, Terry. ;D

What a great thread. If anybody wants proof of how these things can spoil the appearance of a bike, I give you the Norton Commando Hi-Rider. And that was straight from the factory!!

Look it up if you want to see how you can make one of the nicer looking classic bikes fugly in one fell swoop.

I saw this thread ages ago and it has been on my mind ever since.

I have what someone called a "bikini" windshield on my cb550K and a set of saddlebags. I added the windshield after a  2 foot 4"x4" fell off of a truck trailer and just missed my head. A foot lower and I don't know if I'd be writing this.

I use my bike for errands all the time. I was using a back pack but it was cumbersome and distracting when it was heavy. Put the saddlebags on and they are way better.

I hate the K/Q seats and the ape hangers. However, my motorcyle must be safe as possible and useful, thus my windshield and bags. Fun is inherent in this activity. And how I love my 4 into 4 exhausts. It's going to hurt financially when I have to replace them! I am also looking for a luggage rack for the back. I'd like to travel further afield and pack a tent and such.

Generally, if someone wants to change their bike it is their choice. Adding a sissy bar for the passenger as a safety or comfort accessory may not appeal to some but adds utility for the riders. Still, the factory lines are classic and continue to appeal to people - according to the people that comment on my bike at stop lights.
Time is short!

Ok I suppose that would be considered ugly. But you know, way back when, people liked them....

I never did like them, but then I never inhaled either.  ;) ;D

Hey Bob, then what did you do in Vietnam Grandpa? The old folks still hanging around camp tell me that there was always a funny smelling "fog" permanently surrounding most of the US fire-support bases that sure wasn't agent orange, ha ha! You held your breath for the whole tour? Man, you shoulda been a professional pearl diver! Cheers, Terry. ;D

I think the best thing I ever did was install a 2 foot back rest with a luggage rack.  I can haul anything anywhere an still have room for a rider.

When I first picked up mu bike a couple months ago (K4 750) it had a Windjammer, sissy bar, and a King/Queen Seat.  The first thing I did was take off the Windjammer and man did that make a huge difference.  You can immediately tell the difference when you are riding but I like the feeling better.  If I didn't want the wind to hit me I would ride a convertible.

I took off the luggage rack and sissy bar since then because I don't need.  But still have the king/queen seat on (I haven't found an original or original style seat yet). I thing the windjammer made the most cosmetic difference.  But in the end it comes down to what the rider prefers (beauty is in the eye of the beholder).
