Help with rear sprocket / bolt patterns / teeth
« on: August 28, 2015, 12:17:37 PM »
Apologies if this is a bit confusing. I'll try to be concise:

So my bike is a '76 750F with a '77 750F front end, rear swingarm, and wheels (for dual disks). Wheels I got with the bike were bent so I bought a pair of comstars from a '79 CBX. Everything lines up correctly, only issue is the rear sprocket:

The bent wheels that came with the bike use the older bolt pattern for the rear sprocket

The new CBX use the 5 bolt rear sprocket, but it's only a 35 tooth rear sprocket (much smaller than stock).

Where can I get a rear sprocket with the CBX 5 bolt pattern that has the same correct amount of teeth for a '76 F? (48T i think?)

Did they continue the CBX bolt pattern for future sport bikes?

Thanks for the help

you might only be able to get a 38 tooth rear for the cbx. You would want to drop the front to a 13 tooth, then you should achieve close to stock ratio.  I guess that's ok.

If you don't think the links posted above will help you then simply email JT. They are usually good with getting back to people and are very helpful in their customer service.
