After trying to match Bacchus Green twice from my local paint store, and not wanting to spend 200.00+ on a pint from one of the few places who sell the exact color, the first green, I did a sample on a spare tank and thought NO, the second green I did the same thing and thought it was close, so I shot the bike, I liked it in sunlight, but it looked like metalflake Army Green.
I even had the paint guy try the Briar Brown, at least I didn't have to buy that one, but in the end I gave up and just picked a newer Honda color, I know if I go to sell it will be a negative, but I can always do a color change later, I can get a pint of regular single stage for $21-$30 and compared to a car motorcycles are easy to paint.

Funny thing, now that it's blue I want to ride it more, or I should say being a color I like, I want to ride it more.

I'm sure I will get some haters or difference of opinion.

I like that green very nice.  Not sure what you mean by single stage?

Single stage paints do not use clear coats, the paint is glossy when sufficient coats are applied.  A two stage paint has a color shot and then the clearcoat. Then there are other paints such as a metal flake candy paint that requires a silver or white base coat, flake coat, candy coat and then clear.

Sorry mate but thats incorrect. Single stage paints are paints that are only One part {like the older acrylic and enamel paints} , unlike 2 pac paints, there is no hardener for single stage paint and it has nothing to do with clear coat. I would recommend clear coat over every paint job, good clear coats are fuel resistant, most single stage paints aren't. You can use clear over most single stage paints... ;)

Retro, I was trying to make the distinction between the single and two stage in that you get a glossy paint normally without having a clear coat on single stage.
An enamel,  acrylic enamel,  or acrylic paint with urethane hardner, or lacquer are some of the various single stage paints.

If you don't clear the two stage paint it won't hold up and it will be dull and the color is usually darker and it often doesn't look like the paint you thought you were spraying.  The clear  is a required component if the two stage paint system.

Incorrect again mate... ;D ;D  2 stage or 2 pac paint is known for its gloss straight off the gun, single stage acrylic has to be sanded and buffed to bring out its shine, Metallic and pearl single pacs need a 2 pac clear coat, clear is definitely not what gives 2 pac its shine, for 2 pac, clear is more of a finish protectant and also gives depth to a finish, although, 2 pac paint is better wearing than any single stage paint.... , 2 pac solid colors don't need clear {i'm talking quality, UV stabilized automotive paints}, they are high gloss straight off the gun. Any paint that you have to add hardener to is a 2 stage or 2 pac finish, unless using enamel add, which promotes faster curing of single stage enamels. Im a painter, My trade is in 2 pac industrial finishes and single stage, uv stabilized poly urethanes ... ;)

Ok, however you want to refer to it, single stage solvent based urethane like I used, requires hardner and reducer, it is glossy right out of the gun, it is not as long lasting like a two stage paint, like most modern paint jobs are (basecoat/clearcoat) but single stage paints give better color and depth, and when you wax them the rag will turn the color of the paint, they are easier to touch up.
The only reason I have to color sand and buff, is to get them smooth as I shoot in my garage, you know dust and debris floating around.
