yard barn?

 Did we have a discussion on auxillary storage yet?  I've come to the realization I need all these bikes, yet I want to cut and weld on a car this winter. I'm thinking an 8x12 yard barn would hold enough hondas to make  room to work in the shop. If I don't bring home any more strays.
  If I could get the almost naked goldwing, two medium size and one small bike in a shed I'd be good to go. Then they could rotate into the shop as I work on them.  The wing is nearly 8' long but I could remove the rack.

There is a "Show us a picture of your shop" thread on here and there are truly some nice places to work on a classic cycle. Go for it if you need a little place to build a bike. I paid for a small shop to be built several years ago and moved it with me on 2 moves now. Just a little 12' x 20' one but it was cheaper than the monster shop I continually dream about. Throw some heat and air in there and never fear the lady stickin you in the "doghouse" again.

I've got a nice shop, I just can't move around in it because some dummy filled it with Hondas. I now need to cut and weld without burning them up. I guess the question is will 4 bikes fit in an 8x12?

It will be a tight fit, you would be better off doing a 10*12 or a 12*14 as you can store more in them. Also a 8 by 12 yhat is 8 feet wide will not have much room to maneuver a bike. It is tough to get them in unless you back the first two in to get them tight against the wall. Then alternate the other two so they nest in. Unless you intend to try to put one sideways then it is going to be tight to maneuver the last one in place.

I live in Melbourne, but work in Canberra, 400 miles away. The company I work for pay my accommodation, so at the moment I'm moving from motel to motel, probably until the end of the year. I decided that I needed a bike to ride around Canberra, and so I bought this Harley Sportster.

Only problem is, not having a permanent address (or even a bike trailer for my car) I needed somewhere to park it where it'd be safe, so I rented a lockup garage at the local "Storage King". The garage is 3 metres x 4.5 metres (10 feet x 15 feet) so a little overkill for my little Sporty, but if any other bikes follow me home, well............. ;D

My wife saw a Cleary metal building with a house inside of it. That would be cool if I could keep the house/shop ratio correct.

I think we need to build a structure 14 ft dia , revolving floor, door on side. Put bikes in backend first, turn, add another, repeat.... Should hold about 12 bikes or more...

 A lazy susan for hondas. I considered a track all the way around the shop.  something like this except extended.

Sounds inevitable.

 There was a Lodge in Alaska that was like that, mostly shop at one end. You can see a picture of it here.

It was an interesting place. They had an unfortunate propane explosion shortly after the wife tired  of doing it.  Luckily it was during the  one half hour that she spent outside all summer. ??? :o ;)
