I am not seeing the problem here. 10 or more years ago we were ignored or rude remarks made. Now we have HD people wanting to talk to us and ask questions. Unless you want to act elitist as they have in the past, talk to them. It does not hurt to be pleasant.
I'm with you Bobby. By nature I don't talk a lot and don't like being around a bunch of people. but when I'm out and about on any of my bikes I welcome all the attention these old Honda's get. These bikes bring back such good memories for most people including me and I'll talk to anyone as long as they want to talk about them.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

I have noticed this as well. I ride with a couple friends who have nice big twin cruisers, and my stupid little, relatively stock CB650 gets more attention than my buddy's heavily modified Roadstar. My favorite is when I ride during the Sturgis Rally and old, crusty, 1%er bikers feel compelled to come up and tell me their old Honda/Suzuki/Kawasaki story.

I'm not a particularly outgoing person either--I don't even like talking to strangers on the phone--but I do enjoy it when my bike gets noticed, and I don't mind talking to them about it. I think of Hondaman's signature- "Bikers are family. Treat them accordingly." It doesn't hurt me at all to be kind to them.

Took Mayble to the auto parts store the other day to get new plugs for her. They only had 2 so I had to go to another store for the other 2. On the way, while sitting at the light I heard a rocket pulling up next to me. We nodded and I noticed that there was nothing on the fairings and it was flat black...I had no idea what it was but as we pulled away from the light he got on it a bit and I did too. We played like that for the first 2-1/2 gears and then launched. I had him by a bike when we let out of it and ended up at the same parts store.

The guy behind the counter noticed her and asked what she was, as I told him the guy on the rocket said "And the frickin thing is FAST! Non of these kids were over 25 years old and had HUGE respect for her. One if them pointed at her and said "THIS is the reason that our bikes exists!"....it made me smile. Its always good to find that even people that weren't born when these roamed the streets appreciate there significance.

Riding through Sunset Beach, HD Rider and I at the same light - his dash-radio blaring - looks over, turns it off.
"Beautiful"
"Thanks"
"Want to trade?"
I compliment his bike but say "Nah, that's more bike than I need"
"Well, I tried . . . Beautiful . . . "

AND My bike is a mangey mutt compared to the bikes I see on this forum.

BTW - Last Saturday, Oct 3, was like SOHC/4 parade on Pacific Coast Hwy through Bolsa Chica, especially for what looked like Sunrise Flake Orange bikes (of which one was mine).  Member(s) here?

Aww, wish I knew about that ride on PCH. Would have liked to ride down there and check out some other SOHC4 guys in the area. Mines orange too, although not stock and not a perfect paint job.  :)
