This has absolutely nothing to do with motorcycles -- even less than silly hippie jokes -- but I think it's wicked cool.  This rocket scientist (no kidding) has created a bolt-on rocket propulsion system for his pick up truck.  The unit fits neatly in the bed, and it is controlled by a Nintendo game controller.  It's fueled by a mixture of nitrous oxide and roofing tar.  It kicks out 14,000 thrust HP and is attached to a stock, street legal Chevy SS:

I hadn't seen the scooter -- I'd love to see a movie of someone riding it.   I thought the pickup rocket pack is cool because it's a bolt on operation.  No customization other than a few bolts.  It's the everyman's rocket system   Plus, with the cover, imagine the fun you could have winning bar bets.

Yeah, definitely more of a stealth factor with the truck.  Kind of scary how easy it is to install.  I'm not sure the general public is capable of handling that.  I predict somebody will lose their eyebrows...

Interestingly enough there have been rocket powered aircraft around for quite a while.

The latest is below and based on a burt rutan design ( go figure huh?)

There is even talk of a racing league for this type of aircraft.
