Helmet cleaners
« on: December 13, 2015, 10:01:05 AM »
Has anyone here used a helmet cleaner - I'm talking about the pads, foam, straps, etc not the shell?

I typically replace the interior pads every year - fairly effective way of making the helmet wearable again after a year of hard use, but I'm looking into using a spray to fumigate the pads in between those time I replace them.  I don't have lice (at least I don't think I do :P), but I do worry about yeast or bacteria that probably accumulates pretty quickly.

I have a scorpion and just throw the stuff in the washer and dryer.  Work good, but mine is washable.  I think I use McGuiers for the facemask, but ran out and don't know where to find more plastic cleaner.

Actually I might give that a shot too.

I was only asking for the debugger stuff on the chance that someone here who has experience with MSF might know what they use.
I can hand wash the pads, but I'd like something a bit stronger.

Ever rode for a while in the driving rain - how the pads can get funky real quick even if you do try to dry them off?
