PROJECT "STARSHIP" BIKE IS NOW COMPLETE - PICS INSIDE !!
« on: November 12, 2006, 09:04:46 AM »
Well,

It isnt exactly my bike so to speak, but I will be doing 85% of the work on it.
My buddy Chris is the proud owner of this 1974 CB750 nicknamed the "starship" bikeĀ  (see attached pics).
Picked it up last night from Maury in Aurora (about 45min from me)..

Thing is super clean - runs well - and allready has a vintage RC 4 into 1 , and 16'' rear installed..
Plans call for a classic cafe racer , similar to the Anubis Cycle Home wrecker project...
The monster king and queen seat (which is a corbin original) will be going on ebay shortly - along with a host of other
items that came with the bike...

Sweet paint huh ??? ;D

Will the sidecover emblems be offered for sale? PM me if they are...

You know, instead of ebaying that seat, you could always hack it into a seat with a bumstop then have it recovered.

Could that be connected to the reason it's called the 'starship bike'?

You are both correct. The tank art is indeed a quite good copy of the Jefferson Starship album art, that was airbrushed on the tank sometime in 1979 (it is dated on the tank). My buddy Chris (the owner of the bike) is planning on doing a semi recreation of the Anubis cycle "Home Wrecker" bike , as far as red wheels and such. Sad to say the tank is allready sanded and getting Low gloss engine enameled this week..

I might be interested in that seat. How much are you looking for it?
You have a PM/Email their buddy...

It is an "appreciation" of Jefferson Starship's Dragonfly album.
Look, I know it was the seventies and all, but... STARSHIP?!?!
Couldn't the artist at least have done something from Airplane era?
Seriously, "We Built This City On Rock And Roll" ...worst song ever.
But a great looking bike just the same, Proteal.
 ;D ;D ;D
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.
