Hi I'm Rob,
I'm new to the forum and found a good bit of information from the forum. After purchasing my bike I was looking for a place for information as I had ever done a build before. Found this site and so I set sail on the journey. I can say that I have had fun so far and I have given myself a budget and time frame to finish which are 1k and 75 days.  The bike was a little rusted but only cosmetically nothing structural. When I got it home I decided to check to see if it ran. After setting up a make shift gas tank because the one on it was rusted I started kick starting the beast. After about an hour of combination of kick starting and using the starter it finally popped and I knew i only had a little more to go. Gave it one more an she was off. Let her run and added fuel to it. Noticing that it was idling at around 3k she was loud but she was alive. I am figuring that the carbs are a little gunk led up so this is the reason for the high idle. Next I did a compression test and cylinders 1 and 4 are at 120 and 2 is at 118 and 3 is at 111. I thought not to bad. I stared ripping things down and now I am down to modifying my rear gram for my seat loop which I have tonight finally got set and tomorrow I will be sanding things down so I can prep for welding and a seat pan. Pictures of the progress so far.

Welcome. Rear tire is going to hit your hoop under suspension compression.  :'(

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
