swing arm zerk grease fitting
« on: November 14, 2006, 11:43:15 AM »
Does anyone know where to get a zerk fitting like what Dr. Tom has on his 550 racer.  Would make life pretty easy for greasing swingarm..

That looks like the OEM Honda Zerk fitting fitted to the early CB500/550...but any Ace Hardware store has the screw-in lock-on 1/16NPT fittings to replace it with (requires tapping)...

If you have the later 550 swingarm with the single underneath Zerk fitting, you have a slight problem...   ;D

My 500 has one of them (we call them grease nipples over here  ;D - serious)

I thought that they all had 'em!

Yeah, my 76 550 has the single zerk underneath the swingarm.  Its a pain in the but to get too which is why I haven't but NEED to grease.

Honda still shows them as -

BOLT, RR. SWINGARM
90121-300-000    $23.52

You'll still have to tap them however...or use the press-in no-lock Honda grease nipples...   ;D
