Topic: 1975 Honda 750F Gear Teeth

While inspecting the gears I noticed one gear set in Image 2578 with the teeth cut down at one end.  Also, the end gears in Image 2602 have a small notch in the teeth. Does anyone know if this was machined this way or is this from wear? See pictures.  Thanks.
