I have searched this topic and just wanted a couple last opinions. I have a cb750k7, stock airbox, 4-1 cycle-x exhaust with stainless silencer, stock jetting, carbs cleaned, sync and timing complete. On my first couple of test rides I notice that the exhaust will pop a bit on deceleration. It does not pop at idle and the popping is pretty much zero when you blip the throttle while stationary. The plugs are a bit rich looking but in the normal zone I believe.
My question is, can I expect a bit of popping on deceleration with such an open style 4-1 system? There is zero baffle in the stainless "silencer" so it's pretty much straight piped as far as I'm concerned. The exhaust note is not obnoxiously loud either and has a throaty growl on acceleration. I don't mind the popping... kind of sounds like a rally car a bit, I just want to make sure the popping isn't a sign of something else as long as the other signs of issues like plug color are fine.
