cb 550 speedo gearbox retainer
« on: May 07, 2016, 11:55:41 pm »
Hi. I'm after some advise please. I would like to know whether or not the speedo gearbox retainer is meant to have a rubber o ring/ bushing in the little groove (please see attachment). If so I'll need to replace it or buy a new retainer cause mine doesn't. Though it could possibly be residue from speedo gearbox? any advise? Thankyou. Mike.

None is listed or shown in the parts fiche to be installed on the retainer side. There is such a seal on the speedo drive that should be carefully disassembled, cleaned and lubricated prior to install (as part of good maintenance).
