Swap 500 & 550 clutch covers??
« on: November 18, 2006, 01:19:51 PM »
I finally got around to pulling the clutch cover off my 74 CB550 to see what went over-center...

...and while looking at the stubby little clutch actuating rod (all of about 2 1/2") I wondered if the covers only can be swapped...to put the 550 cable actuator on the kickstart side of the 500...

Will just the two engine covers swap?? Or does the whole clutch need to be swapped??

Or can't it be done at all??   :P

...Stock 1972 CL450 'Scrambler' also being re-assembled...

Cant be done the crankcases are a different shape! Try the gaskets of one on the other case and you will see what i mean
