Smashing Hondas for safety...
« on: July 09, 2016, 09:10:02 PM »
A short vintage motorcycle safety film from ~1971.
About 4 minutes in they crash test several CB350's and a 750.  :P

A little disheartening to see that no matter how badly the bike hit the car - the car never really got damaged.  Part of the fun is knowing you got them as good as they got you :)  (that was a joke - it's appalling to see how vulnerable the rider is in an impact).

Those helmets!  Jeeze, I find it difficult to believe they really did anything other than keep your scalp from the pavement.

Thought Rod Serling was gonna say.....There is a Fifth Dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as Timeless as Infinity. It is the middle ground between light and Shadow, between science and Superstition, and it lies between the pit of Man's fears, and the summit of his knowledge.   This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area in which we call the Twilight Zone

Every now and then i go to the local auctions that sell written off bikes etc.

Whenever I see the handlebars where the rider supermaned off the bike it sends shivers down my spine.

These type of videos / ancient movies should be mandatory viewing for anyone looking to ride a motorbike on the road.
To your point, having fractured a femur after my knee came into contact with the handlebars of a C50 Honda (!!!) which was after the large car came into contact with my front wheel,  I've never walked the same again, it fcuking hurt but could have been so easily fatal.

We are made of delicate stuff, just bone and soggy meat. Take care, very often an accident is just that, and they happen all the time.

Mostly meatbags with some water and some bone.

In France there is a slightly different composition, Soggy meat marinated in garlic, dense skull and wine mixed with a small amount of watery wine. Mixed with a large twist of emotion.
