Topic: Basket case BSA

 I looked at a basket case BSA, it's a hardtail comes with a stock front end and a chopper front, most of it's in boxes and buckets and all over a messy shop, The top end's off the motor which says to me it was broken or owned by a foolish person.
 Seller wants $1400. Wow. No idea what model it is or year. He also has a no title cb750F2 with a stuck engine rust and wasps in it. $400.
 I might go back after I sell some bikes but surely ain't excited. He's got lots of low serial number collector antique tractors

That's way too much unless it's a Goldstar engine, in which case jump on it.

Also make sure the sludge tube in the crankshaft is not plugged.  Another feature I never understood.

 He doesn't even know what model it is. Someone supposedly in the know drove down from Chicago to check it out and went home without it. That might say something. There's no way to know if the springer front end was ever on this bike or if the stock appearing front end fits it.
 He did mention to my wire he'd have the 5 bikes ready for me to pick up soon. Some friend huh?

What letters and numbers are stamped on the engine ??

 I'll take a light and forklift next time I'm able to get in there, it's surrounded by tons of antique tractors. He said it's a hardtail but he may not know what he's looking at. There is a springer front end there too,

Not even close to being worth that, at least not to me. If it was all stock stuff and complete but in boxes like you say, then I might entertain that price. It'll be real expensive to restore or part together.
