It was interesting to see the history and the struggle of the brand through the early years.  The haters here are comical...old HD's will be around long after all the 70's Jap bike are gone.

Seen several of them Terrence and you wonder how they can be in business still, seems to me if you are a motorcycle mechanic you work on every thing and if you are really busy you explain that the citizen might get it faster some place else, other than that some things I saw were just so rare in my area that you would say man I'll try but I don't even know where to get parts so it will be a bit. Same as the bit that if you saw some one when out riding, by the side of the road you stopped to see if they needed a hand.

Genius timing by Harley. Indian has been picking up a bit of steam. This painted them as utter dicks. Though, this Indian, and that Indian have nothing to do with each other outside of name. Doesn't matter.

And, the Milwaukee Eights are starting to hit dealers. Local dealer took delivery this week, and have pre-orders for many more.

Well done, Harley.

If nothing else, they are marketing geniuses.

I agree, but now when I see a "Harley Davidson" edition Ford pickup, I gotta laugh. I think from the beginning and up until Polaris got a hold of them, Indian wasn't really a brand as much as it was a business prospect. Even back when Henderson was acquired or excelsior, they just rolled them right into the Indian name without changing a damn thing. That's why between myself and friends we refer to the new ones as "Polaris Indians".

Also, don't forget everyone, Harley also looks down on Indians, excelsior, Henderson, buell, and victory... It's not just jap bikes.

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Harley looks down on the American brands Steve? Who told you that? Harley riders don't, I saw a Bandido riding a new Indian Chief on Thursday and most MC's constitutions say they can ride US or Brit bikes, so I guess we'll be seeing more 1%ers riding Indians?

I did think about riding my "Made in the USA" Goldwing over to my local Hells Angels HQ and asking if I could join, but only for a moment............. ;D

Geez guys, a show about HD's comes out and it's HD bashing/paranoia time. I've been recording the show on my DVR so I can watch it when I have time and it's not too bad, I'm just stunned at how aggressive Indian was at trying to keep absolute control of the motorcycle market but I guess that's how business is. I know the Indian of then isn't the same Indian as now but I bet their marketing and PR people are having a cow about it.

Really? The clubs around here only allow Harley's over a certain size. No 883s. I know when I had my buell I was allowed to ride on a memorial ride with some guys, but had to be last.

Nope, just about all of the 1%er clubs here are American clubs (Hell's Angel's, Bandido's, Mongol's etc) and have the same constitutions as 1%er clubs in the US, which means US or British bikes, so Indians are fine. I had a friend who was a prospect for the Iron Horsemen and he was allowed to ride his 1100 Sportster, but after he realised what being a member of a 1%er club really meant, he got the fcuk out of Dodge and now lives interstate.

I was chatting to a couple of Hell's Angels about my Triumph Rocket III and they told me that several members owned Triumph sports bikes, but never rode them on club runs, or when wearing their colors. The Bandido I saw on Thursday was riding a new Chief and wearing his colors, so I'm guessing that Indians are ok for club bikes. Cheers, Terry. ;D

That really blows my mind. I have friends who are 1% and none of their crew has anything other than a Harley. Hells Angels around here are so out in the open transparent it's ridiculous, but the pagans are another story. Either way now I'm expecting to see some Indians and triumphs at pagan rallys.

Ha ha, over here "clubbers" refers to people who frequent nightclubs Frank, usually gay ones, and they ride entirely different "mounts", not that there's anything wrong with that........ ;D
