Early CB750 gauge resto needed
« on: August 07, 2016, 06:59:28 PM »
CB750. Got an early set of gauges I picked up a few years ago along with some spare parts.  Looks like they had been restored or had an attempted restoration.  New faces, plastic housings, & lenses. New chrome backs, wires are original but have new connectors & sleeving.  They look new, but don't work.  Tach needle is at zero until you start the bike.  Then, the needle jumps almost all the way around and is jumpy.  Goes back to zero when shut off.  On the speedometer, I get nothing.  No needle movement, no trip or mileage counter.  The knob to reset it works.  All lights on both sets of gauges work.

Taking apart the gauges (not entirely) revealed nothing that jumps out at me.  To go any further, I think I'd have to break things apart - break is a bad choice, but things are pinned or pressed together?

Anybody here in the states want to get these working or have some they would like to trade ?

Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Please count me in if you decide to sell them, I know thats not what you need to know, but Im looking for a set of these gauges in any condition......
I bought most parts needed for a K1 gauge resto from Yamiya a few motnhs ago and they look fabulous after a couple of night of stressful hard work to dismantle and rebuild them, albeit they are not the same as the K0 gauges....
Thanks, eh
