74 CB550 not charging

The bike isnt charging and all I can find in this manual is about adjusting the regulator...which I did to no avail.

Im thinking maybe the stator is gone away but after many rereads of the above mentioned manual I cant find anything on how to do a stator check ..with or without the engine running.  Can someone please tell me what colored wires in the connector plug I use to check to see if the stators legs are making any AC power.  And what color wires I place the black and red leads of the meter on when doing the checks....Thanks.
