Fuel leak
« on: September 01, 2016, 03:07:39 PM »
I had something that I think is odd happen.. My bike had been running fine then one day one of my over flow valves from my carb started pissing gas.. I let the bike sit for about two weeks until I had time to work on it. When I turned on the fuel, no leak. So, I started the bike, no leak. Took it for a spin, no leak.. Any ideas as to what might have been going on here?

Sometimes the float needle valve has grit on it preventing it from sealing properly or the float tang binds on the needle valve temporarily making it unable to close. It's not uncommon for the issue to disappear on its own. Just keep an eye on it. Wrapping on the leaking bowl with a screw driver handle can loosen a stuck float.

Sound like one your floats got stuck and un-stuck itself.  Wouldn't hurt to have a look in there, though.

Right^^^ That's what I was trying to say.
